Welcome to over a week of events... To celebrate International Women's Day in Wales women's political, cultural and support groups in Cardiff are working together to organise a festival around 8th March 2010. The majority of events are free and open to all members of the public. The emphasis is on celebrating women's achievements and raising awareness of areas in which gender equality still hasn't been realised. We want it to be as inclusive as possible and everyone is welcome. We would like to thank the organisations and venues involved: Wales Women's National Coalition, NFWI, Oxfam Cymru, Women's Arts Association, Women's Workshop, Welsh Women's Aid, YWCA, Wales Assembly of Women, NUS Women's Committee, BAWSO, MEWN Cymru, Cardiff Women's Aid, Cardiff Council, Henna Foundation, Safer Wales, Cardiff Women's Safety Unit, Institute of Welsh Affairs and the EHRC. Chapter, Butetown History and Arts Centre, The Old Library, Cardiff City Hall and Clwb Ifor Bach. Festival events are funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and Cardiff Council and by individuals and groups involved.
