North Wales International Women's Day

Saturday 6 March
Google Women
Created by performance architect Sheron Wray in 2009;
the piece is a duet for 2 women, and examines the place of women
in the past, the present and the future.
Sweetheart Roland is based on the gruesome story by the Brothers
Grimm. With music by John Dowland, Massive Attack and
Radiohead, and sumptuous costumes by Steve Denton, the work
unfolds episodes of physical and athletic dancing.
Ffin Dance will be choreographing a brand new piece of work for
the dancers of the Helen Barton School of Dance, which will be
performed this evening.
Before the show, Sue Lewis, artistic director of Ffin Dance, will be
speaking about the choreography in a pre-performance talk. She
will be inviting questions and discussion.

Colwyn Bay Chwarae Teg International Women's Day Debate.
As part of its programme to celebrate International Women's Day Chwarae Teg have organised a debate in Colwyn Bay on Thursday 11 th March where three key topics affecting women will be discussed, including women and the economy, women as carers, and women and the green agenda.

The debate will help to capture the views of Welsh women on these topics and Chwarae Teg will use the findings to help influence the work it undertakes to support the economic development of women.

This debate is already fully booked, however any group of women from anywhere in Wales can take part by running their own Chwarae Teg International Women's Day Debate. All the information including a Debate Guide, Facilitators Guide and a Topic Guide can be downloaded from www.chwaraeteg.com . The guides provide all the information needed to run your own debate.

Anyone who runs their own debate can also submit their findings to the Chwarae Teg website where they will be published. Chwarae Teg will also review all of the findings from the debates to help in its policy development.

ROUGH AUNTIES [U]
Welsh premiere of Rough Aunties.A powerful story of the feisty, resolute ‘Rough Aunties’, the remarkable women who care for the abused and neglected children of Durban. Getting up close and personal she shows how these incredible women wage a daily battle against apathy and corruption, supporting the victims and each other through terrible traumas.
