An exhibition of historical photographs from the recent series of Women's History Roadshows, which throw light on women's lives in Wales. Members of the Women's Archive of Wales will be present to talk about their work and discuss the active process of tracking down, rescuing and conserving historical sources.

You are invited to an artists Tea Party, an inaugural coming together of minds over a nice Cup of Tea
Tea Masters will be invited to work collaboratively on canvases, forming the "Tea Masters Collection"
which will be exhibited during the day and at another exhibition later in the year. Visitors may just come for Tea. You can bring your knitting.Any visitor automatically becomes a Tea Master

WOMEN CREATE
International Women's Day is a global event, giving the chance for women to come together and celebrate the feminine. Women Create! is a group of women based in south Wales who work in the creative arts. Their aim is organise creative arts events so that all women can get involved. Whether you're already involved in the arts, or want to try something out perhaps for the very first time, there will be a warm and friendly welcome for everyone.
Activities include:
Bookmaking; Papercraft; Weaving; Dancing; African Drumming; Liberate your Voice; Gong bath for relaxation; Creative writing; Spoken word and music performances; Open Mic for spoken word and musicians (sorry, acoustic only due to time limitations); Stalls for shopping
All workshops will be run by women, and all performances (including Open Mic) will be by women.
A great opportunity to meet other women and try out lots of different arts activities. But most of all - COME AND ENJOY YOURSELF!

Women’s Arts Association is celebrating International Women’s Day this year with an exciting programme of films by contemporary female filmmakers, animators and artists. We’re screening eight films across a range of genres, styles and subjects and all the filmmakers will be on hand to answer any questions.
From hand drawn animation to narrative fiction, from the womb to village life in Zambia, this event will take you through the lens to all sorts of unexpected places. Come along, have a drink and enjoy the journey.Join us for networking drinks and nibbles from 6pm!
Film screenings start from 7pm.

Booklaunch - Stevie Davies Into Suez

Swansea's Stevie Davies is the author of eleven novels, two of which have been listed for the Booker Prize. Her most recent novel is set in the run up to the Suez Crisis, a template for future invasions (Iraq and Afghanistan being the most recent). Through the story of Joe, an ordinary working man on the front line, Stevie explores how imperialist attitudes to the Middle East have failed to change since 1950. Join us to discuss these very contemporary and current themes and listen to readings from a hugely enjoyable historical novel.

by Lucy Gough: In a bleak landscape of run down housing a woman comes to terms with the a life defined by the lack and loss of love.
Lucy has been writing plays since 1986. Many of her stage plays have been professionally performed and she was a finalist for both the John Whiting Award and BBC Wales Writer of the Year Award (1994) with her play Crossing The Bar. Her first BBC broadcast was in 1994 with Our Lady of Shadows (BBC Radio 3). Since then she has a play of the week on the BBC World Service and has had five plays on BBC Radio 4. Her Radio dramatisation of Wuthering Heights for Radio 4 was broadcast as the classic serial in Woman's Hour in 2003.

Wednesday 10 th March
Newcastle Emlyn Chwarae Teg International Women's Day Debate.
As part of its programme to celebrate International Women's Day Chwarae Teg have organised a debate in Newcastle Emlyn on Wednesday 10 th March where three key topics affecting women will be discussed, including women and the economy, women as carers, and women and the green agenda.
The debate will help to capture the views of Welsh women on these topics and Chwarae Teg will use the findings to help influence the work it undertakes to support the economic development of women.
This debate is already fully booked, however any group of women from anywhere in Wales can take part by running their own Chwarae Teg International Women's Day Debate. All the information including a Debate Guide, Facilitators Guide and a Topic Guide can be downloaded from www.chwaraeteg.com . The guides provide all the information needed to run your own debate.
Anyone who runs their own debate can also submit their findings to the Chwarae Teg website where they will be published. Chwarae Teg will also review all of the findings from the debates to help in its policy development.
